ITMA Welcomes it’s First Eastern European Member, Acces Auto-Trading Joins

July 16th, 2019

Acces Auto-Trading has become the latest company to join the International Tyre Manufacturers’ Association (ITMA) and the first from Eastern Europe.

The Romanian company supplies car, SUV, 4×4, light and heavy commercial and agricultural tyres, and currently commands approximately 10% of the domestic TBR replacement market. It is also continuing to expand its offering with the opening of a tyre recycling plant in August 2019.

ITMA is the only trade association in Europe to exclusively represent the interests of imported tyre manufacturers. ITMA helps these brands compete effectively through its provision of technical market data to members and guidance on the rules and regulations affecting the industry. ITMA now has 24 members, nine of which appear in Tyrepress’ top 20 largest tyre manufacturers.

Alfred Graham, president, ITMA, said: “The intelligence and data available to ITMA members is not only of value to manufacturers but also those wholesalers who are sole national distributors of tyres originating from outside the European Union. For a domestic market leader such as Acces Auto-Trading ITMA membership offers a competitive advantage. We look forward to working with our first Eastern European member.”

Ciprian Gavrilescu, Managing Director, Acces Auto-Trading, said: “Aces Auto-Trading has rapidly expanded to a commanding market position in Romania through innovation and commercial expertise. That expertise will be further enhanced by the data we, as ITMA members, will now enjoy.”

Other international tyre manufacturers, wholesalers and distributors who would like to benefit from the support of ITMA membership can find out more by visiting itma-europe.com or calling +44 (0) 1277 659222.

About ITMA

With the sheer volume of rules and regulations affecting the industry, it is increasingly difficult for independent tyre brands to survive on their own within Europe. As the only trade association in Europe to exclusively represent the interests of imported tyre manufacturers, ITMA helps these brands compete effectively.

ITMA works closely with other tyre industry associations, UK government departments and the European Union. It acts swiftly and effectively in response to any proposed regulations that are likely to impact or affect its members.
