ITMA latest news
ITMA strengthens its technical expertise
ITMA has further boosted its technical expertise and capabilities after being approved as a member of the Scandinavian Tyre and Rim Organisation (STRO). Having been accepted to STRO, ITMA will have improved access to the latest and most comprehensive technical tyre information available. The increased knowledge and capability will enable ITMA to provide its own members with even more timely and insightful advice about the changing legislation and technical requirements affecting the sales of tyres within Europe.
“Technical knowledge and access to information about changing legislation is of critical importance to tyre manufacturers and importers looking to market their products within Europe,” explains David Seward, president, ITMA. “With so many laws and regulations affecting the development and sale of tyres, keeping on top of the latest rules can be a daunting task with dire consequences for businesses who do not get things right. Being granted membership of STRO will enable ITMA to provide its members with even more timely information designed to help them avoid these types of problem.”
STRO was founded in 1960 and has since, worked towards establishing technical standards for applications within the tyre, rim and wheel industries. The standards drawn up by the organisation match other international standards but additionally, include further requirements for specific Nordic countries. The organisation now boasts some 65 members including wheel, tyre and vehicle manufacturers.
