The Tyre Industry Federation

The Federation aims to speaks for the UK tyre industry with one voice on issues of shared concern. ITMA, together with the British Tyre Manufacturers Assoc were founder members of TIF and were quickly joined by the National Tyre Distributors Assoc and the Retread Manufacturers Assoc in a sense of common purpose.

The Federation’s mandate extends to:

-Raising UK government awareness of the impact of the tyre industry on issues of national concern including road safety, climate change and sustainability.

– Co-ordinating actions within the industry to improve communication, raise professionalism and increase business efficiency.

Tyre Market Study Committee

The TMSC as its name suggests exists to monitor and where possible interpret recent market statistics and trends. Membership of the committee is open to member associations of the Tyre Industry Federation.

Used Tyre Working Group

First established in the mid 1990’s to consider the implications of the then impending EU Landfill Directive and its impact on the end of life tyres the group continues to maintain a watching brief on all tyre recovery issues.

The Group is comprised of representatives from the tyre industry, government, the Environment Agency as well as vehicle dismantlers it continues to meet regularly and remains a valuable forum for debate, arisings monitoring and situation analysis.
